THERAPIES

There are a few Therapies i can offer to bring health to your body and mind. Please read the services below to see whats it best for you.

The work with patients is individualized starting with a detailed anamnesis including postural and dynamic observation. The Clinical Reasoning is defined, as well as the previous history, together with the exams and tests (when necessary), evaluated. This first session can last from 1 ½ hours to 2 hours. It is important in this first interview that a positive partnership is established, a therapeutic bond that stresses the patient’s autonomy and sovereignty with reference to his/her process and, above all, trust. In some cases, the interaction with other professionals who assist the patient is valid so that the exchange of information, when authorized and desired by the patient, leads to a more coordinated and effective work.
When the physical issues are in the front scenery, the patient can come due to a doctor’s indication, already with a closed diagnosis and specific prescription. Or, it can be that a diagnosis is established in this first contact through the collection of data from the interview and initial evaluation. A plan with number of sessions and regularity is drawn, as well as a treatment path, with expected results, agreed with the patient.
When there are more somatic issues, or cases in which physical and psychosomatic symptoms do not have a clear border, the most affected systems are identified. For example: digestive, respiratory, muscle-skeletal system. The course of therapy will provide more data and the initial path outlined will be modulated over time.
In both cases, psychosomatic and psycho-behavioral aspects related to posture and symptoms are embraced and taken care.
The GDS-Muscular Chains method is a reference in postural analysis and investigation of imbalances. The personality organization based on Eastern Psychology with its manifestation in the main energy centers of the body (subtle anatomy) plays a vital role in the evaluation of the relationship between symptom and underlying emotion. Movement Reeducation is one of the basis of therapeutic guidance and prescribed exercises and Somatic Experience is the treatment method used for cases in which strong signs of trauma, dissociation and disintegration are noticed.
According to the patient’s evolution, he can be referred to weekly classes where he can continue to be assisted regarding his individual needs and goals.

GDS – Muscular Chains and Movement Reeducation (motor coordination)

It is a global method of physiotherapy where biomechanics and psycho-behavioral patterns in the body are analyzed in a way that the therapy addresses the root cause of the postural problem. Acts in prevention, treatment, support of good posture and the harmony of the body. Created by Godelieve Denys-Struyf, the method offers an individualized approach and as a result a renewed sense of well-being.
Movement Reeducation, a method created by Ivaldo Bertazzo, addresses the body’s intelligence, not only in terms of everyday gestures, postures and bodily attitudes, but also in the practice of more complex movements. The awareness of the body volumes to be preserved, the recuperation of elasticity and strength, the correct cooperation between muscles in order to create tonic and efficient movements in space are some of the basis of this global method that aims at improving posture, while stimulating the taste for movement. The correct motor coordination between the muscles is common to all human beings and plays a role not only in rehabilitation and treatment of pain, but also for oneself regarding self-awareness, awareness of our emotions, speech and actions.
Balls, sticks, rubber bands, brushing and body percussion can be used as resources, linking sensation and quality of movement.

Somatic Experience

Created by Peter A. Levine, American physician and therapist, this method focuses on restoring the body’s self-regulation after a traumatic event. It has the potential, through its naturalistic approach, to alleviate traumatic symptoms or even prevent their recurrence. Through careful attention to the good physiology, rhythms and dynamics in the body’s systems, the techniques help to finalize defense responses and to modulate the gradual discharge of high levels of activation associated with primitive survival behaviors. Not only effective, SE therapy is precise and sensitive, enabling deep healing.

Vedanta and Yogatherapy

Yoga belongs to a vast body of knowledge and practices that can be applied to specific situations and symptoms. Asanas, pranayamas, visualizations, mantras, mudras and meditations sum up to a vast horizon of tools to help overcome all sorts of challenges in life. Vedanta is the essence of the knowledge of the Vedas, a study and a vision that can transform our lives forever.
While Yoga is the praxis, Vedanta is the philosophical body, of values a vision that supports and justifies all kinds of practices.
